Dammit

It doesn’t help that I have missed almost five days of work already because of those stupid contact lenses. And simply because I have put this off for so long.

Apparently, I have this eye condition called keratitis, which translates to cornea abrasion due to overwearing of contacts. And in my case, it has gone pretty bad so I still have poor vision right now.

I went to my ophthalmologist last Saturday and he gave my left eye a pressure patch which he said he will take out the next day. As luck would have it, I’m supposed to go to this Jason Mraz concert at the NBC Tent that night so I had to go to the concert with a very unfashionable eyepatch and almost zero vision. Di ko manlang makita si Jason Mraz ng maayos. Aargh.

Also, I forced myself to go to work today just because I don’t want people (especially my boss) to think that I am having the time of my life at home. I actually can’t do anything for the past few days because of my eye --- I couldn’t watch TV and read books.

I KNOW. It sucks. Big time. I swear I will never wear my contacts again, (unless there’s a really special even I have to go to). I’m just hoping to get well really soon.

Why I Still Don't Have New Glasses

After weeks of scouring for the perfect pair of glasses, I finally found one that suited my style and budget (nothing above 4000 bucks). It was a Nicole Miller plastic frame priced at 3430, but there's a discount of 25%off! So that's actually 2572.50 to be exact, plus my multicoated lens, setting me back at around 3550. So much for saving money this year. :-)

But what the hell. I really need to buy a new one. Besides, the one I'm getting is not so expensive for a branded pair. :-)

So the next thing I did was have my eyes checked. Now this is where things got kinda weird. After the computerized eye exam, I proceeded to this small room where they make you wear this geeky glasses and read letters from afar. The exam on my right eye seemed mormal, although reading the small letters took considerable effort. And by this time, my eyes were really tired already from squinting and making out letters from what seemed like dark blurs.

And then it was my left eye's turn to read the letters. Could you believe all I could read was the big K on the white board?!? I literally could not see a thing! By this time the optometrist was getting exasperated by me. Hello, was it actually my fault that I could not read those things? Deep inside, I felt extremely worried already. Iniisip ko na baka nabubulag na left eye ko...Or something seriously wrong with my left eye because I always wear contacts....

And so they took another computerized eye exam on me, and we did another round on my left eye. Pero wala pa rin nangyari. Weird.

So that's why I ended up not being able to buy new glasses.

Tomorrow I'm taking a day off work. I'm going to my ophthalmologist, Dr. Lapuz. And then I'll visit na rin my neurologist.

Invisible War...

Invisible war, seems we're fighting an invisible war
Strained manoeuvres, keeping silent score
In this invisible war
Every day I seem to lose you more
Both wishing it was like beforeI
n this invisible war

Talk about a fine line between love and hate
We've lost more than our direction of late
Talk about a fine line
between lovers and friends
We've never been lovers and now we're not even friends

In this invisible war, seems we're waging an invisible war
Every day I seem to lose you more
In this invisible war
It wounded deeply the scar is here to stay
Opening up at all the little things I do and say
You always want things to be as before
So I make you angry and you bleed a little more

In this invisible war, seems that we're waging an invisible war
Every day I seem to lose you more
In this invisible war

Want to go away I still love you
Got to go away I always love you
Got to be away Time heals all wounds

I met a former Kraft Sucat employee today. Lito Something. He’s now based in Kraft’s Cikarang Plant in Indonesia. Expat daw siya dun, Project Manager. These all happened while I was at the Engineering office, doing my usual 5S audit. And so yung 10 minutes audit ko, naging 30 minutes ng kwentuhan. Ang dami niyang sinabi! At napaisip ako sa mga sinabi niya. Kinda makes me regret about the choices I’ve made…

Actually, this day made me think a lot about my life, and where I’m going. And the changes I have to make with myself.
Ang drama ko talaga. But honestly, it IS amazing how the turnaround of events in a single day sometimes makes you wonder kung tama pa ba talaga ginagawa mo your whole life.

Hehe. I think God just gave me a sign.

Nanganak na si Carol!

Yup! Yesterday! Around 11:30 am daw. Baby boy.

Yay! Congratulations Carol and Lexel!

Confused

My boss just told me that the Philippines will be the second site for KIC Model implementation. Not the supposed first.

Which only means na my trip to China will be moved indefinitely. I don’t know exactly when it will finally push through. But I somehow want it to be here now, in my hands, because only until then can I finally decide if it’s really something I want for myself.

Hay. Ang tagal naman. Maybe this is not for me talaga. Maybe God is saying I should go to the States na and try my luck there. Ewan.

I still have until summer to decide. Na malapit na. :-) Please Lord, give me a sign…

Unwell

I'm feeling a bit dizzy today...

I don't know why...Yesterday I was okay.

It could probably be the antibiotic I am taking right now. Or something...

Oh well.

Kraft Holiday Dinner

I’m a bit delayed on writing posts nowadays. I just haven’t had the time to write about the stuff that’s going on with my life over the break…

So anyway, last Dec 30, my Kraft barkada and I had a Christmas get together at Glorietta. Present were Carlo (with Vange), TP (with Lorraine), Jing (with Cocoy), Meann, and Kelly. Carol wasn’t able to go because she already has family commitments.

I picked up TP and Lorraine at SMB at around 6:30 and then we headed to Bread Talk to meet Carlo, Vange, and Meann. Carlo suggested we eat at Tony Roma’s. I kinda had an idea he was paying cos it’s a pretty expensive restaurant. Hehe...

We mostly ordered steak and ribs, steak and shrimp, onion rings, appetizers (chicken, mozzarella, baked potato), etc. Sorry, no pictures of the food.

In the middle of eating, we saw a fireworks display exactly where we were sitting! Haha, swerte talaga.

After the dinner, we took pictures at the giant Christmas tree in front of Oakwood.

And then we all walked to Starbucks 6750 where we had some coffee and frappes.

The night was full of reminiscing, laughter, and a little bit of asaran, courtesy of TP (haha). I hope we could plan our Summer Outing again soon! :-)

Good Friday

I’m so glad I’m not doing my MAP this year. No, it’s more like I’m relieved. But that only means one thing…

Anyway, I’ve been getting a lot “thanks jen, good initiative” work e-mails lately. Which reminds me, my boss just asked me to schedule a one-on-one meeting with him to discuss my projects. I guess THAT would be the perfect time to ask him regarding the company’s plans for me. I just have to think of a good way to present it to him.

Sheesh…I’m really bored. It’s Friday, and one of the good things about this day is that I’m seeing my boyfriend tomorrow! Yay! And believe it or not the thought of hanging out with him the next day still excites me. Haha. Well, enough of this cheesy stuff!

I’m going home already.

Till next week.

Of New Year’s Resolutions and other realizations

It has never been my habit to come up with a list of resolutions for the New Year, since I know I will break them anyway. But this year I’m making one because I’ve realized and learned a lot of things about life in general over the past year…

1. Learn new and exciting things. Last year, I kept on planning to try a lot of new stuff, like wall climbing, Bikram yoga, even swimming (pucha, ako lang ata tao di marunong mag-swimming!), but never got around to DOING. So now I am really going to commit myself to try these new stuff, and get a little more out of life. First thing I will try is wall climbing, because that seems like the easiest and most convenient to do. I’ll try to convince Brian to go climbing with me this month. And then Bikram yoga. Ivy would be my partner when it comes to those kinds of stuff, dahil mahilig yun sa mga artsy fartsy (ballet, dancing, etc). And then sa summer, swimming! Before I go to the States, I really really have to learn how to swim!

2. Travel and meet more people. I guess now would be the perfect opportunity to travel and learn all sorts of cultures. I guess I am pretty lucky to have gone to a lot of different places already, but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take great advantage of it at that time.

3. Smile more. Need I say more?

4. Be more optimistic.

5. Read more books. Although I am such a reality TV addict, I’m still trying to find some time in my schedule to read some noteworthy books. I’m pretty picky when it comes to liking books. Most of the bestsellers I’ve tried to read, I never really liked (example: DaVinci Code, The Alchemist).

6. Take good care of my health and well-being. Take my multivitamins daily, drink milk, and finally find some form of physical exertion so I can build some muscles into my body! Somehow I’ve realized I need to regain some pounds into my 100-lb frame. I wanna look healthy, glowing, and fabulous!

I guess that’s about it for now. It think it’s good that I’ve written my resolutions here so I can check if I was really able to do the things I set out to do at the start of the year.

1st Monday of 2006

Guess what. It’s the first Monday of the year. I went to work today with a heavy heart. I was supposed to celebrate a special occasion on this date, but the turnaround of events yesterday prevented me from rejoicing today.

I certainly hope I made the right decision.
Later I will be going to dinner with my balikbayan relatives at Merville.
This will definitely be a long night.

Enchanted Kingdom last Dec 26

Lunch near Galactic Treats - Dominos Pizza, spaghetti, etc....
Pila sa Anchors Away...
Pila again sa Rio Grande Rapids...
Buying some time with the clown...
I'm looking forward to another gimik with you guys! :-)
